This is so wonderful. I signed with my daughter, and that was great, but the best thing was that when she was singing in “meaningless baby talk” she was also using signs for birds and flowers - she was making up songs about those things! I was so glad to know it!

Also, babies understand what we say if we say it slowly enough, and tell the truth - we can tell them about what’s happening to and around them. It helps them orient to their world.

Written by: Amber Frangos, is great.

I agree that Englund’s edited volume is a good read for an introduction to Malawi’s political culture. Also, you may enjoy looking at this clip from a project in progress seeking to document Malawi’s peaceful transition to multipartyism in the early nineties. It includes some great interview footage with the people that were active at the time.

This is the exact type of thing we try to educate parents on, to keep their kids safe. Kids don’t always think before acting. Parents are responsible for their kids do’s and dont’s and they need to be aware of what their children are doing on and off line. It’s the parents responsibility to keep their kids safe! But, if we don’t educate them, and teach them the skills necessary to prevent something bad from happening, it will keep happening.

I plan to send this page out to my Members as I think you do have some of the most comprehensive information and afterall, who doesn’t respect, Oprah? : )

We work hard to prevent crimes on line and to make parents and kids aware that no-one is safe on line. We also post every known abduction and do whatever we can to get these kids back home alive and safe. Kids and teens (not all of them) have the attitude of “That can’t happen to me”, and we NEED to change that attitude with them. Anyone can be abducted, molested, raped, stalked, etc., anytime anywhere. So if we are not walking around with the attitude “I’m safe”, we will be much safer!

I volunteer my time, happily, doing anything and everything I can to help kids and parents understand that the Net is not safe. And I work hard teaching them that “Social Networking Sites” are not the safest places to go. I work in conjunction with Jody Maddox of “4 The Children” showing the faces and stories of those who are missing. The more people who see the faces and hear the stories of those missing, abducted, runaways, etc., the better chance we have of getting these kids returned home safely.

Feel free to visit the site and see what all we cover. We report on everything under the sun from “dumb criminals” to the wars. You’ll be well informed of it all!

My assumption is most will not have interest in this book and topic until faced with the ravages of inflammatory related disorders. At that point, it is unclear how this information can be useful. Or, is it possible it can compound already serious disorders.

Pityriasis rubra pilaris (PRP) is one of these disorders. It is a very rare inflammatory condition of the skin, and is without a known cause or cure.

A problem with this category of books is the attempt to appear scientific and, thereby, offer false hope based solely on skillful marketing.

Ms. Winfrey needs to be aware of this perspective and the potential for harm that outweighs promise.
