The book is a collection of stories of organ donors and recipients. It covers all aspects of organ donation from a personal perspective including the author, who donated a kidney without knowing who would receive it. Included are stories written by others a father s letter to his deceased son who had received a heart transplant, a mother s perspective of learning her daughter was in heart failure, a woman who found a kidney donor for her daughter over the Internet, a young boy who suffered for years on dialysis. The book seeks to dispel myths about organ donation by presenting facts and trends about organ transplantation. Data is provided by the United Network of Organ Sharing and the National Kidney Foundation.
